Colors of Warmth

I've been giving myself a hard time lately about my pictures. Due to lack of wall space I've been stuck to a corner in my living room. I'm battling with bad lighting and an even worse camera. But I need to just be proud of the pictures I DO take. These are some of my more proud moments of the day.

Friday I took the day off and was able to visit some smaller, charity owned thrift stores. To say the least I was NOT let down. I found great prices and lovely store owners.

Cheers to cold weather!

Shop Update: The Warm Fuzzies

We hold on to the cold for dear life here in Phoenix. It doesn't seem to last very long and we try desperately to wiggle in some "cold weather" gear if we can. There was a bit of a chill in the air today and let me tell you, it's nice for a change.

I've been putting some wonderful things in the shop to keep you warm!

Take a gander here.

Blueberry Finds: Best Couch EVER

During my many thrifting adventures last week, I came upon a wonder. And although my stealthy quick pictures do it ABSOLUTELY no justice I hope you can see past that. This couch is AMAZING. No pulled threads, no fading, no stains. WONDERFUL.

Now if only I was opening my dream-of-a brick and mortar store sooner rather than later.

This outfit features some of my favorite pieces. I have been on a somewhat outfit null, waking in the morning with NO clue what to pick. But today it just kind of... worked :)

Wardrobe Remix: Picture Day!

Yesterday was picture day! I couldn't help but think, how much do we ACTUALLY look like ourselves in our school pictures? I had kids getting haircuts the day before, dressing up like they NEVER do. I mean... don't we want to look like ourselves?

So I actually put some though into mine. I didn't want to look different than I do normally. So I wore something comfortable and me. This is one of my FAVORITE skirts... EVER. The pattern on it is quite beautiful.

Wardrobe Remix: Vintage Dreamy

Getting ready to go to one of my FAVORITE places to eat, Zen32. I'm meeting up with my "cute footed" friend and we're attempting to make the most of our summer before the school year starts. (She's student teaching and I'm starting a new school.)

This outfit seemed very subdued and pretty so I felt like giving my picture a dreamy, old-fashioned kind of quality. Let me know what you think! ;)

Pink&white knit skirt - thrifted

Wardrobe Remix: Jason Takes a Whirl

Oh boy... Poor Jason had to put up with my grumpy hungry mood today (really... I get really grumpy).
I was in a hurry because we were going to get food and I told him to go ahead a take the picture to save time. (You see... usually I have to tripod + timer = long time)

So here's how it went.
(Some shots have been taken out due to ridiculousness)

Attempt #1

Me: Jason you have to show my SHOES!

Attempt #2 (getting hungry)

Me: Do you have it on VIDEO?!? Hurry up!

Attempt #3

Me: Shoes Jason! SHOES!!!

Example #1

Me: Okay.. YOU get where I am and I'll show you how to take it.

Attempt #452

Me: Good enough... lets go eat already HA!

Wardrobe Remix: Tulip Sunday

I'm playing it cool here with the shoes. Usually I do something a little more jazzy, but nothing jazzy really went with the rest of the outfit.

I know this post is a little late being as though its Monday and this was Sunday's outfit, but two important things happened on Sunday.

1) My g-ma's family breakfast at the local Cracker Barrel and

2) My cousin coming back from her New Zealand volunteer trip

This meant no real time for posting and updating. In fact I was running SOOO late I took this picture in a huge hurry... looked at it and decided I needed tights, but didn't have enough time to re-take the picture :(

Victorian orange pattern blouse - Walmart
(I know, but I go shopping there with my g-ma)

Tulip Skirt - Kohl's (gift from mom)

Orange belt - thrifted

Brown wide strap flats - Target

Ode to a Fallen Thrift Soldier

Why do all the good ones have to leave me?

I seem to be doing a lot of Odes these days (via DearGolden) but this one just has to be done for I only found out about it today. One of my favorite of all time Thrift Stores is leaving me, but not for good. The Salvation Army is going to take it over which is good and bad in a way. This means I'll still have "a" thrift store, but have "my" thrift store. They have incredible prices and incredible merchandises.

So I acknowledge you. I love you. And I will miss you Unique Thrift :(

The Uniform Project Update!

I don't feel like I've given this lovely lady enough press as of late.

If you haven't checked it out yet, you must. It's called The Uniform Project. She wears the same dress everyday with different accessories to jazz it up for a good cause.

I've donated some things and so far she seems to like me shoes! See below.

Top left: Gold Arabian Flats

Top right and Bottom right/left: 80's Neon Pumps

Oh cowboy boots. I know some of you cringe, but I love them. And here in Phoenix you can generally get them at a lot of places.
This is the perfect outfit to wear to my parents' house. Blueberry got to play with the other pugs today. Its good for her to get some social time :)
