Wardrobe Remix: It's been a while...

It has been a VERY long time since I've done a "daily pick" of the ol' outfit. This could be for some or all of the reasons below:

1. I've been bone tired and having to take pictures of outfits would force me to be more cute than I have been.

2. People getting their Masters or full-time students deserve to wear the worst comfortable clothing of their choosing, simply just because.

or

3. I didn't want you to be JEALOUS of all my cute OUTFITS!!!

Oh man.... so here's the rub with the swag above:

Dress - from the shop, hemmed to a mini, sleeves rolled up due to "tight cuff fit"

Belt - came with a dress from Target - tied in a bow :)

Leggings - Also from Target

Shoes - Ross

The dress actually had an awkward fit to it, so I cinched it, pinned it and tied it with a bow :)

Cheers!

Not just another Ugly Christmas Sweater Party....

So my Aunt has arranged this new tradition for our family. Every year about a week before Christmas we pile into a limo, watch holiday lights and shove food into our faces. Every year it gets better.

This year was absolutely ridiculous in the most awesome way possible.

Limo = Party Bus
Lights = Light Saber fun
Food = FABulous Maestro (like... the best food ever)

Did I also mention that the theme involved Ugly Christmas Sweaters (my specialty) and a visit from the Gingerbread Family?!?!?!?

And lets not forget the customized Bobblehead Dolls (pictured above).

A bit of Catching Up to do...

So what can I say??? Things have been busy these last couple of weeks. My students were seriously busy with their 100 items projects (which you can see above). The goal is to creatively use a LOT of one item or similar items and manipulate it into something new.

The last picture featured is just me messing around with good ol' tape. And wouldn't ya know? The boys in the class just REALLY wanted to try on this dress! It must've been the bow in the back :)

A Sunday Out....

Last Sunday I celebrated both of my G-parents' Birthdays in a one stop shop kinda dinner. My parents thought it would be great to take them some place where they would make fun of them while at the same time paying lots of money for them to do so. It worked like a charm!

I couldn't help but think these fancy napkins look like they're giving us the ol' middle finger.

And this is Jose, not the name you might expect from a Japanese restaurant, but he was FABulous!

Happy Birthdays to you my G-Parents and may you continue to argue with me about politics and teaching until the end of time :)

Blueberry has GONE to the DARK SIDE...

Okay so maybe I just WISH I had this costume for Blueberry. A girl can dream right???

Actually someone at my school sent out this hilarious email with a variety of dog costumes. And you know what??? A LOT of the dogs in that email were PUGS! Surprised???? You soooo shouldn't be.

The truth is Blueberry won't be dressing up this year for Halloween, but she will be celebrating in spirit! I however, will be dressing up THREE times! :) School, shop and out dancing. I always think you should try to get the most wear out of your costume :)

Cheers! I can't wait to see some of the awesomeness that is blogging costumes!

A year ago I was teetering around with the idea of having a shop.

I just bought my house (a dream of mine).

I was living with my fabulously sweet boyfriend.

A year later and I'm fiercely involved in Blueberry Deluxe Boutique! I'm finally broken into my cute little house and my boyfriend is in Virginia, working his way up his career ladder.

Maybe I'm writing this because my birthday is coming up, my 10 year high school reunion is coming up and I just found some interesting journal entries from 2006 (another crazy time in my life).

Here's to the past, present and future!

Beauty: Man vs. Nature

One of the amazing things about visiting Mr. Blueberry while he's in Virginia is that DC is very close to where he lives.
I hadn't been to DC since I was 10, which is my opinion is too young to really soak it in. As for our visit, we narrowed our choices to the Natural History Museum and the National Gallery of Art. Mr. Blueberry is a huge fan of evolution and I... well... I can't help but visit the Modern Art section of any museum.

All-in-all some excellent choices in my humble opinion. Although I wish Blueberry could have been there. Too bad they don't allow pets in museums yet.

Queen for a Week

Annnnnnnnd I'm back!

With a total of almost 2 weeks of random vacationing I'm officially back. Next week it's back to the grind. No sleeping in. No having epic Gilmore Girls watching nights... well maybe I can still do that.

But you know what folks??? Life is pretty swell.

(BTW... more cute pictures of vacationing to come!)

Fruity Frown

I got to spend some long-awaited time with family this week. Even though school and the shop life are crazy it always seems to work out when I need to make time for them :)

This week I was able to:
1. Visit ASU campus with my cousin who is a possible future AZ college student (although I think she's leaning more towards NAU)
2. Witness the aftermath of a ridiculous Arizona hail storm (via broken glass and water in my house... unsmiley face!)
3. Spike my hair for school (the kids loved it and just to let you know... it WAS crazy hair day)
4. Visit with not one, not two, but almost 5 relatives I haven't been able to see in years

Let's just say this was a good week.

A Little Bit of this....

So you might ask yourself... What exactly do all these images have in common? I don't even think I know that answer myself. You see... the easiest way to sum up the last month or so is to simply say that its been a mash of ridiculousness. But good ridiculousness... including some blingy skulls, West Coast visits and imaginary art kiddos.

Life is a blast right now, but busy is all hell. Ya get me?

Far away in a Distant Land of 9 to 5...

In a distant land... far far away... Blueberry Deluxe has a 9 to 5 job. And although that job is absolutely fabulous, it can take me away from my personal hobbies every once in awhile.

I thought it'd be nice to share some of the life with you a bit more. These are what my brave new kiddos have been working on in the last couple of weeks. A little bit ago I had shared some images of their progress on the cardboard mansion. The bottom image is it at its almost final moment. They'll have to do a little more to the outside (it still seems a little more like a box than a house) but all-in-all I couldn't really be prouder. My little guys did a good job :)

The top two images are the new project they've started. Tracing each other through plexi glass and transferring them to paper as a mono print. Life is good.

3rd in the lineup is a 7th grade project. Non-objective watercolors. Boy those kids are always surprised when I'm not expecting them to make things look "real". I feel it really empowers them.

And now onto some business...

I was featured in the newspaper! The Arizona Republic to be exact.... and for those of you who don't live here that's a mighty popular newspaper! So thrilling to be featured. I can't thank my customers enough for all the support they've given me and the store!
