Where's Blueberry?

So many people have been asking the same question... Where is Blueberry?

Ever since I opened the shop, Blueberry has been a frequent visitor. She kept me company on many a weekend and was a better greeter than ANYONE I could afford :) 

But for the past couple of months, Blueberry hasn't been at the store... and people have NOTICED!

The scoop is... Blueberry has been sick. Very sick. Last October she was diagnosed with having a heavy amount of bladder stones. She had blood in her urine and according to the doc... she was in a CONSIDERABLE amount of pain. You'd never know it because she has SUCH a good little personality. 

Here's an image of a doggy with stones. It's not pretty, nor is it not painful. They look like little teeth when they remove them :(

So shortly after that she had to have surgery where a huge amount of stones were removed from her bladder and urethra. She was put on special food and the doc hoped for the best. 

However... a couple months ago they came back. The doc was shocked. Apparently, because of Blueberry's a) disposition to having stones and b) her inability to go potty at anytime and caused her not to drink enough water and therefore... more stones. To say the least I was very VERY sad for her. 

So for the last 60 days Blueberry has been hanging out at G-ma and G-pa's house out West where she gets to play with 3 other puggies and go potty and drink lots of water!

And you know what?!?

They went away!!! Yippee!!!! It will taken another couple of months to totally get the house in order for her, but she's healthy and I'm VERY happy. 

So for those of you who were wondering... and those of you who were worried... Blueberry's ALL BETTER!

TypeFace Doggie-Style

But of COURSE... the pug is in the middle :)

Seem to have dogs on the mind lately. Poor little Blueberry went to the vet yet again. This time with a HUGE hot spot in which the doctor literally ripped off her skin (I won't go into any more ewwy detail) as well as a HUGE bump on her other side caused by an allergic reaction to a shot. 

I'm just glad she's okay :)

Under the Weather

For many of you who follow my facebook and many other things involving my life know that Blueberry (the pug) has had a little bit of a rough time lately. A couple of weeks ago when she was invited to be on the news, we realized her urine had blood in it. Upon taking her to the Vet, we learned she actually had stones in her bladder {ouchie :(} and immediately scheduled her for surgery. The problem was that there were so many stones. Who knows how long she had been putting up with that pain! :(

Once in surgery the Vet also discovered she had stones in her urethra. The poor baby had to of been in immense pain. That surgery was a week ago and since then Blueberry has really been recovering well. They removed literally a HANDFUL of stones of all sizes from her little body. 

In another week I can go get her all cleaned up and pretty :) Just in time for the new school year.

Blueberry got to be on the news Sunday! These are pictures from APARN's adoption event. The pugs are sooo cute!

Check out the puggie poo three images down on the left. ADORABLE! He seems to have a problem with his left leg and such a great personality! We had a blast and Blueberry is still in the running for Cutest Pug!

Community Game Night

Thursday was Game Night at Blueberry Deluxe Boutique. We had a blast! Eric Torres was able to show off his creation, Iconica. Nobody went home empty handed! 

Eric's wife made some lovely homemade pies for the customers and even Blueberry came to visit!

First Pet Event!!!

I can't even tell you how incredibly excited I am for this event! It's our First Annual in hopefully many more to come Pet Events. We have pigs, kittens, and a variety of doggies participating in this local shelter charity event! 

I'll also be donating 10% of ALL SALES that day to the lovely APARN (who is near and dear to my heart.... Blueberry being a Pug and all) so shop your little heart out!
